Apple Cherry Pastries with Pistachios



Preparation time: 30 minutes
Cooking time: 1 hours 30 minutes

Serves:  6 to 8 people

Recipe Ingredients:
·         1 lemon
·         8 apples (about 3 lbs.), peeled and cut into ¼-inch slices
·         ½ cup of dried cherries
·         1 cup of sugar
·         1 package (3.4 oz.) vanilla instant pudding and pie filling mix
·         3 cups of cold milk
·         2 packages (10 oz. each) frozen puff pastry shells, prepared according to package directions, cooled
·         ½ cup of shelled pistachio nuts, chopped


Cooking Instructions:
1.       Grate ½ tsp. of zest from lemon. Stir apples,

cherries, sugar, and lemon zest in pot.

2.      Set your Ninja to Slow Cook High for about 2 to 3 hours. Secure the Lid in place and cook until apples are tender.

3.      In a medium mixing bowl, beat pudding mix and milk for about 2 minutes or until mixture is thickened.

4.      Divide apple mixture among pastry shells. Top with pudding mixture and sprinkle with nuts.


5.      Serve immediately and enjoy!
